Belly Dance Classes

Dance99 teaches a combination of Egyptian and American Cabaret style of Belly Dancing. Classes begin with a dynamic warm-up to warm up the whole body and lubricate the joints before working on the core muscles and techniques of the dance and end with a cool down to lower the heart rate and lengthen the muscles with some simple stretches to improve flexibility. Dance99 emphasizes on safety while dancing to ensure students enjoy the benefit of dancing, free from injuries.

Class Description

Dance99 provides the following type of classes

Technique & Choreography
This is the complete dance class where you will learn belly dance techniques in levels and bring home dance choreographies that you may use for your dance parties or even teaching your friends to belly dance! The class starts with basics from the Beginner to Intermediate and Advance. If you truly wants to learn the art of belly dance, this is the best class to go for. See below for description on the different levels.
Technique & Drills
A multi-level class for everyone, no matter whether you're a beginner or a season dancer. Join the class to enhance, maintain and learn the right technique to belly dance and Drills! Drills! Drills!
Belly Fitness
A multi-level fitness class with belly dance grooves. You will be dancing non-stop from the beginning till the end. If you are looking for a low-impact workout, while benefiting from the benefits of strengthening your core muscles that are used in belly dance, this will be the class for you.

Technique & Choreography

Beginner - Students will be exposed to the great Middle Eastern music and learn all the fundamental movements of belly dance, its posture and alignment, isolation, shimmies, some basic turns and walks, and arms movements.

Intermediate - Intermediate students learn more intense layered shimmies, introduction to rhythms, more challenging combinations, and usage of props like veils and cane.

Advance - more challenging choreographies and props like finger cymbals and others. Students will be exposed to improvisational skills and other styles of belly dance. The advance class is an indefinite class where new materials will be introduced constantly from time to time.

 

Private Lessons

A one to one private lesson or semi-private lesson could be arranged at a time and place convenient to you. Private lessons are great ways to master and improve your skills at your own convenience. Whether you are planning to learn a new dance for an upcoming show or brushing up your belly dance technique under a watchful eye of an instructor or get feedback and comments on your own choreography before setting it on stage, this may be the option for you.
